January 4, 2010 - Whetstone appoints Bainbridge & Associates exclusive worldwide agent for confectionery process and packaging systems.
Whetstone and Bainbridge first worked together in 1985 under Whetstone Corporation until that company was sold in 1987 to Carle & Montanari of Italy. Both have maintained strong ties to the confectionery industry.
September 20, 2009 - Whetstone and ABB, Inc. sign Systems
Integrator Agreement
Whetstone and ABB Robotics have executed an agreement naming Whetstone an ABB integrator for Packaging, with primary Application expertise in Confectionery. Secondary areas of expertise are Bakery, General Consumer Goods and Palletizing.
Company CEO Hank Whetstone calls the ABB IRB 360 “the most reliabe delta-design robot for high speed applications.” He added, “I have followed high speed delta robot development in Europe since the beginning and have seen many robot designs come and go. During my 30 years of personal experience in confectionery, the early high-speed packaging robots were tested in demanding 24/7 applications. These were packing individual chocolates into boxes.
